Back to Children's work

Year 4- STEM Week

During STEM week, Year 4’s challenge was to create a catapult using just lollipop sticks and elastic bands, so as to be able to send a message across a raging river. Children worked in their ‘Magic 3’ groups and designed their catapults and then made them out of just 10 lollipop sticks and 4 rubber bands. Subsequently, they tested to see how far they could launch their message. Later in the week, the children had the opportunity to redesign and modify their catapults to see if they could improve them further.
