Children in Year 4 had the opportunity to visit the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in the city centre this week as part of their Learning Journey topic on Anglo-Saxons. They visited the Staffordshire Hoard Gallery, where the children dressed up in Anglo-Saxon clothes, examined various artifacts including swords, jewellery, board games and cooking utensils and went on the trail of various Anglo-Saxon treasures. In addition, the children were able to visit the Ancient Egyptian, Roman and Greek galleries as part of the museum tour. All the children found the visit extremely fascinating and they were able to discover and learn so many interesting facts about the Anglo-Saxon way of life as well as about ancient civilisations.
